Event Description Drexel Game Developers Group: Josh Kohn on "Virtual Reality Motion and Design Do's and Don't's"
November 12, 2015, 6 - 8 pm, Rush 009
This week at DGDG, Josh Kohn, a second-year graduate student at Drexel, will be talking about his thesis project and how to design for virtual reality. He is studying the use of physical motion coupled with virtual camera movement when transitioning between environments. While virtual reality gives users the ability to experience amazing and unusual experiences in an immersive environment, there are still several areas in virtual reality design that need more development, specifically transitioning between environments. Multiple research studies have shown that physical movement in a virtual environment supports a strong immersive and presence-induced experience.
Additionally, Josh will share his experiences in developing for virtual reality versus developing for traditional video games. He will be discussing things you should avoid doing as well as some of the literature behind virtual reality design.
Pizza will be provided at this event!
