Event Description

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of the activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify the criteria for placing a patient on ECMO
  • Identify the factors that contribute to increased Pulmonary Vascular Resistance
  • Differentiate options for cannulation in children and adults
  • Identify the needs for anticoagulation on ECMO
  • Identify the procedure for ECMO cannulation
  • Identify indications for using ECMO to support CDH patients
  • Identify common pathologic conditions necessitating ECMO in the PICU

Target Audience
Physicians, nurse practitioners and other health care professionals practicing critical care and who will take care of an ECMO patient

Continuing Medical Education Credits
