Event Description
Join the LoLa 38 project for Bridging the Gap: Documentary Film Screening and Panel Discussion. “Bridging the Gap: A Film About Police and Their communities” explores the relationships of local police with the Philadelphia community through their eyes and those of 15 graduates of Saint Francis de Sales in West Philadelphia.
A panel discussion moderated by Jennifer Turnbull (interim executive artistic director, Spiral Q) will immediately follow the screening, and feature:
- Former Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey
- Attorney Shaka Johnson
- Naomi Karnuah, student filmmaker
- Chief Eileen Behr, Drexel University Police
Art Making Add your voice to the conversation and participate in mask making with Spiral Q. Progress is made by showing up and taking part! This event is developed in partnership with a creative placemaking project funded by ArtPlace. This project will engage the 16th Police District in a series of public placemaking events that will present additional opportunities for officers to engage with residents in more informal and personal ways.
